All FourFriends Premium Quality Dog and Cat Foods are gluten free and naturally hypo-allergenic. Gluten is the protein that is found in specific types of grain, namely wheat, barley, and rye. We only use rice in our complete foods.
Our Derma Coat Dog and Sensi Cat Duck are totally grain free. Making them ideal for those cats and dogs requiring a grain free diet. It would seem a large percentage of dogs suffer from allergies. The most common allergens in dogs are beef, dairy and wheat gluten. It would seem the most recent trend, from those calling our help desk are towards feeding grain free foods. A common misconception is that these diets are the best choice for dogs that have food allergies.
If your dog has an allergy to something it is eating, it may show itself as one or several of these symptoms:
- Itchy Skin
- Red, irritated eyes
- Nasel discharge
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Coughing or sneezing
- Inflamed ears
- Swollen Paws
If you suspect your dog is sensitive to something in their diet, the easiest thing you can do is to learn the source of the allergy.
